Works in Progress…
I typically work with multiple processes and ideas simultaneously. Most of my current works have not been published or exhibited yet, but here’s a little sneak peek into what I’m working on recently. Schedule a studio visit to see works in progress and chat deeply about all things art, environment, and life.
I feel Anticipatory Grief…
I’ve been feeling a lot of sadness thinking about what would happen to my sacred Hemlock Forest if the invasive Hemlock Whoolly Adelgid invades. This project focuses on making images that will help me remember the trees and the space after they’re gone, using discontinued FP100C film. There is a deep correlation here between process and subject, as this film is discontinued.
I’m angry about deforestation for development in my area!
Using cyanotype and ink, digital photography, film, and more I’ve been exploring habitat loss and questioning how humans are capable of flattening forests for condos, strip malls, etc. I’m noticing that people care less and less about the environment. And I’m funneling my rage into art.
Working Title: “I Contain Multitudes”
I’m starting a series of silver gelatin prints that explore the embodiment of generational memories. This is a work in progress and just the beginning!
>>>I’m also working on framing works for an exhibition in NJ in September (to be announced!) AND a solo show opening in November in NJ.
